Stan’s ranch has no smell to speak of. First potential red flag, though not always a dealbreaker on its own.
Taste-wise, it leans a little sour. Not terrible, but not good either. I found myself reaching for ketchup instead and that is saying a lot since I don’t love ketchup. I will stick to breakfast where they have their homemade bread for toast; that is top-notch
Texture is thinner. Give it a jiggle and it moves more than expected, though credit where it’s due, it doesn’t run off the fry. Small mercy.
Food aside: The burger held its own. Nothing fancy, but Stan’s isn’t trying to be fancy, and it delivers exactly what it promises. The problem is those crinkle fries deserve better backup. They’re solid enough to carry a great ranch, and instead they’re stuck with one that’s just there.
Stan’s ranch feels expected. The food here is decent, but it’s a local hole in the wall type of place that doesn’t really stand out.
Life’s too short for bad ranch.
