What We Ordered

The Review

Basement Burger Bar’s ranch doesn’t smell like much and that can go either way.

Flavor is on the lighter side too, though light doesn’t mean lacking. The salt ratio is where this one earns its keep, dialed in just right so it doesn’t come across bland or flat.

The menu calls it homemade, and it tastes like the kind of ranch that backs that up. Nothing overworked, nothing trying too hard.

I had it on a salad, which is usually where a ranch has to prove itself, and it held up. I’d get it again. That’s saying something.

This one meets the bar for what good ranch should be. It just doesn’t have that wow factor that’d make me detour back for the ranch alone.

Life’s too short for bad ranch.
