What We Ordered

The Review

I gave Hunter’s another chance, hoping they’d revamped the ranch. Spoiler: they didn’t. Still the same store-bought sadness with a hint of sour. Come for the cheese curds and maybe some steak fries, but skip the ranch if you value your tastebuds.

Let me start by saying, I wanted to believe. It had been a while since I’d been to Hunter’s, mostly because their ranch and I had a falling out. But when I saw the updated menu, I thought—maybe, just maybe, they got the memo. And since it’s owned by the same folks who run The Cabin (whose ranch is Top-Notch by the way), I figured there was hope.

There wasn’t.

The ranch arrived and immediately gave me nothing to work with, no smell, no character, just suspicion vibes. I did the hopeful eyebrow raise, dipped in… and immediately regretted everything. It’s the same store-bought sadness it’s always been, maybe even worse with a little sour note riding shotgun that hits the back of the tongue. I tried to pivot and use the raspberry sauce from the cheese curds on my pizza as a Hail Mary. Don’t do that. It was a moment of desperation, and I’ve learned my lesson.

That said, I do like some of the food here. The cheese curds with the raspberry sauce? Still a win. And their thin little pizzas scratch a very specific bar food itch. Plus, my husband was living his best life with a plate of steak fries (his favorite). So the meal wasn’t a total bust. Just… don’t go in hoping the ranch has changed. She hasn’t.

@ashaha00 #stitch with @ashaha #greenscreen now... The Cabin (also owned by this family) has some of the best ranch in town. Tell me why they serve up cups of sadness here then? It really bums me out and Im clearly not the only one that thinks it. check out this review and all my others on DressingApproved.com #thedressingroom #dressingapproved #ranch ♬ original sound - Ash ♡ Ranch
