Morning Star Grill

I walked in expecting Runner-Up. Morning Star Grill is owned by Omelettes & More, and that gave me hope. Hope is a dangerous thing in ranch reviews.

The ranch has no smell. None. I leaned in and got nothing.

The flavor is just as muted. It’s not bad. No sour note, no off-taste, nothing actively wrong. It just needs more of something. Salt, herbs, dill, garlic… anything!

Consistency is fine. Mid-range, leaning thicker, so I can’t even blame milk for diluting it. The blandness is just baked in.

In their defense, I went pretty close to their opening day. There’s a chance they were still working out kinks, and I genuinely hope they were. But it’ll be a minute before I venture back to find out.

A few unrelated grievances while I’m here:

The homemade potato chips arrived floppy and cold. A five dollar upcharge for chips. Floppy…cold…chips.

The iced tea is brisk/fountain, which is rough on its own. The bigger crime: they swapped Omelettes & More’s iced tea over to match. Now both restaurants share the same disappointing tea. I’m still processing.
