Art & Jake's - Lansing, Michigan
Homemade ranch that’s nearly Top-Notch, but needs a slight flavor tune-up. Perfect consistency, excellent for dipping or dressing. Pair it with the firecracker fries and ask for Andrea, she’s a queen. If you're looking for a place that has something for everyone and will make the cut for having good ranch, check out this place.
RANCH REVIEWRUNNER-UPDRESSING APPROVED!CHAIN RESTAURANT
You can absolutely tell the ranch here is homemade, confirmed by the server and backed up by the texture and vibe. It’s got the potential to be Top-Notch, but it’s missing a tiny bit of that zhuzh. Like, sprinkle a little more salt or something, and we might be in business. The consistency though? Chef’s kiss. It sticks to your fry without slipping off and coats a salad like it’s its job (because it is).
Now listen, the firecracker fries (wedges) are worth the trip alone. Slightly spicy, totally crispy, and begging for a ranch sidekick. I also took one for the team and did a dry run on the chicken tender, good flavor, but that breading was aggressive. Like, “crunch so hard it cut my mouth” aggressive. Not life-changing, but definitely dependable.
Extra points for the service: Andrea was a gem. So friendly, didn’t even flinch when I tea-dribbled mid-sentence because I got too excited telling her about The Dressing Room. (Honestly, how do you mess up drinking through a straw? This is my villain origin story.)
