Blue Tractor - Traverse City, Michigan
Blue Tractor's ranch is good but not groundbreaking. Super runny, a little bland, and the chipotle version didn’t wow me. Great wings, unforgettable cheddar jalapeño dip, and chicken tenders that existed solely to carry sauce. A solid meal, but the ranch didn’t carry the team.
RANCH REVIEWMICHIGAN BASEDRUNNER-UP
Blue Tractor in Traverse City gave me a ranch that almost hit the mark, but not quite. The regular ranch is good (no major red flags), but it’s lacking a little oomph. Flavor’s there, just not loud enough. It also might be thinned out a bit too much because the consistency is very runny. Like, splash zone if you’re not careful.
They also offer a chipotle ranch. It’s fine. Smoky, slightly spicy, but didn’t light any fires in my soul. It worked with the wings, but I wouldn’t order it solo.
Speaking of wings: those were a win. The dry rub and buffalo sauces were both loaded with flavor. We also got the cheddar jalapeño dip, which was hands-down the star of the table. Rich, spicy, cheesy goodness. And yes, we had chicken tenders too. Not bad, not amazing, but solid ranch delivery vehicles.
There are locations in both Traverse City and Ann Arbor, though the Ann Arbor spot is currently marked as “temporarily closed” while it renovates and shifts into a new concept. I’m honestly excited to see what they come up with, fingers crossed the ranch glow-up makes the list.
