Not all ranch is created equal

Cottage Inn Pizza - Ann Arbor, Michigan

Cottage Inn's ranch is solid. What you expect from a good ranch. But it’s missing that oomph to take it to Top-Notch. If they figure out the missing magic? Game over.

RANCH REVIEWMICHIGAN BASEDRUNNER-UP

This one had me hopeful from the jump. The smell? Promising. Like, “okay, maybe we’re doing this” vibes. And honestly, it tastes good. There's a little sour note that gives it some character, the consistency is right where it should be (not too thick, not too thin), and it works well on both pizza and salads.

It’s a straight shooter of a ranch. No surprises. No weird aftertastes. Just a solid, dependable dip that gets the job done. But… I kept waiting for something extra to show up. A little zhuzh. A twist. A wow of some sort. And it just never came. I don’t dislike it at all, it’s doing the work needed, but it’s not there to knock your socks off.
