Not all ranch is created equal

Joe's on Jolly - Okemos, Michigan

Thick, homemade ranch with a slightly sweet, sour cream-forward flavor. Chunky consistency (unsure what the chunks are), no smell. Not a standout, but not bad. I’d order it again if needed, but I’m not planning my meal around it.

RANCH REVIEWMICHIGAN BASEDIT'LL DO

I was a little nervous when this one hit the table: thick, chunky, and no smell to give me any clues. It looked like it might’ve been trying to fight for its life in that ramekin. But the menu said homemade, so I braced myself and went in.

Flavor-wise, it was giving “Woodshop vibes” (see review), even down to the little red flecks (what are those?!), but with its own twist. Slightly sweeter and a little more sour cream-forward than expected. Definitely homemade, and I appreciate that... but those mystery chunks? Not my favorite texture situation.

It's not, not dressing approved, but just slightly missed my mark for the stamp.
